What is Creative?

To me, “creative” is kind of a fancy word, and who can use it to apply it in real life is genius. People always talk about how creative they are but do they really think about it by themselves? Nowadays, when technology is developing, we can easily found tones of sources which could help to improve our project. Some website is born as a playground for people to upload their project and show it to the world. Ideas can very seem so similar because the creators following the same sources. 

There was a time I feel so confused about myself. Many people said that I’m creative because of what I draw. I don’t think of it as a compliment because I know what I do right now is just what I see on other people’s work and use that idea to make it my own one. Sometimes you will feel it not a victory when you can get it so easily. And sometimes you will feel you losing yourself a lot when you are having the style of someone too much.

So...What should I do? At that time, I stop using art sources and start to focus on developing my skill and knowledge. I learning step by step how to draw something more correctly and redo it each time a day until I can draw that thing better. From getting strong with the primary, I start creating my own style. At first times, I don’t get much agreement from others around me. People start to texting me and asking am I feel good? They think I was sad and depressing that why I drawing weird paintings. Some others think I using drugs while creating arts. 

All of those opinions make me feel so disappointed in myself. I was so stressed at that time but there still an invisible motivation that forces me to keep doing what I’m following. I keep posting my artwork and step by step get addicted to people who like it. By the time, people who used to call me a weird girl is now starting to follow my style and applied it in their works.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge is a very important thing that everyone needs to know before they want to do anything else. We all have to learn about the alphabet and grammar before we can write this essay.  Just like when you draw something, you can copy the work but you can’t understand it if you don’t have any study about that thing. I remember the time when I doing my final project at college, I got the topic to draw my portrait. I was so confused because I could not draw humans. To me, that is the most challenging thing I ever do in the drawing. I could not find any idea on the Internet because nobody has drawn about me and upload it on social media or websites. I also cannot copy other people’s work because it is not what I am allowed to do. 

I tend to study the very basic thing first. I start to find the basic step by step of drawing eyes, nose, and lip. Drawing it until I can do it without looking at the sample until I can sketch and drawing my own face. It was a big victory for me I can doing something that I always think I could not and never can do in my life. Until now, it was a lesson for me to always remember. Knowledge and basic is very important. It is key to do everything.
